A Victory for Acupuncture-CORRECTED

We apologize for the error printed in our last email about the White House petition. We originally stated that the signed petition meant that Medicare patients now had access to acupuncture benefits. This is incorrect. The signed petition means that the White House can officially respond to the signed petition but no benefits have been assigned to acupuncture. We apologize for the confusion and misinformation.

The goal of obtaining 25,000 signatures was achieved, with over 27,000 signatures on the White House Petition to designate 'Acupuncturist' as a recognized healthcare provider under the Social Security Act.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who participated in the effort to get the White House Petition signed by the deadline of February 10. The AAAOM, NCCAOM, state associations, individual practitioners, friends and family, and so many more were able to collaborate to collect 27,000+ signatures for this petition to get acupuncturists recognized under the Social Security Act.
