August Product of the Month

The hormone system of the body is a beautiful yet complex set of processes that help keep the body running optimally. Unfortunately, hormone imbalance is a common cause for illness and dysfunction in the body. The adrenal glands are endocrine glands that are located on top of the kidneys and they are responsible for releasing corticosteroids (cortisol, epinephrine, and norepinephrine) in response to stress, as well as regulating aldosterone in the kidneys. This is just a small piece of the big hormonal picture, but let's keep this discussion simple and focus on this part so we don’t get too complicated.

Since the adrenals are directly affected by stress, they can get over taxed. This is not surprising considering many people are working long hours, have high amounts of stress, and make poor dietary choices.
