Meet the Fertility Practitioners
The practitioners who make up Triangle Acupuncture Clinic’s Fertility Wellness Program are all specialists in Oriental Reproductive Medicine in addition to their Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Each practitioner brings unique skills to the program and in addition undergoes a training period in order to master the philosophy and techniques of infertility treatment at Triangle Acupuncture Clinic. Consistent, quality care is assured whether you choose to see one practitioner exclusively or rotate between them.
Katherine Rowe, LAc is Director of Triangle Acupuncture Clinic’s Fertility Wellness Program and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). Katherine attended Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz, CA and has advanced clinical training in infertility from coursework completed at the Zhe-Jiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hangzhou, China. She has complimented this education by studying with Randine Lewis, author of The Infertility Cure and Jane Lyttleton, world renowned infertility and Chinese Medicine specialist. Katherine has a special interest in menstrual health education and a goal of preventing infertility by reaching women with menstrual irregularities early, before hormone imbalances develop into more serious concerns.
David Peters, LAc brings multiple talents and skills to the Fertility Wellness Program. David was mentored in acupuncture and herbal medicine during his graduate level education by the Dean of the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine, Dr. Fu Di. In addition, as a licensed massage therapist David utilizes several special massage techniques such as Shiatsu, TuiNa, AnMo and Jin Shin Do acupressure. David also loves to teach Ba Duan Jin (8 Pieces of Brocade) Qigong and Yang Style Tai Qi in his spare time. He has developed a qi gong class exclusively for fertility patients of Triangle Acupuncture Clinic which he teaches out of the Cary office.
Julie Hutsell, LAc graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, CA. She worked in private practice treating fertility patients in San Francisco before joining Triangle Acupuncture Clinic. It was in the Bay area that she had the opportunity of interning with a famous infertility specialist, Dr. Lifang Liang, author of Acupuncture and IVF. Dr. Liang’s busy clinic gave Julie a valuable hands-on education and experience integrating acupuncture and herbal medicine with IUI and IVF. Julie brings a passion for nutrition to the Fertility Wellness Program and shares her knowledge at monthly nutrition seminars given for fertility patients.
Toby Helmstetter, LAc graduated from Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz, CA. In addition to the Traditional Chinese Medicine coursework, Toby specialized in Five Element Acupuncture where she learned techniques to treat emotional issues such as anxiety and depression. Toby’s contribution to the Fertility Wellness Program is in treating those patients who are struggling with their own emotional well-being as they are going through the process of trying to become pregnant.
