Kolleen Mitchell, LAc
Kolleen Mitchell obtained her Masters degree in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe New Mexico in 2005. She is nationally certified by the NCCAOM in Oriental Medicine. This includes Acupuncture, foundations of Oriental Medicine, Chinese Herbology, and Biomedicine. She specializes in the treatment of infertility. Kolleen approaches fertility from a holistic standpoint emphasizing the importance of not only Acupuncture and Chinese herbal remedies but also emphasizing strategic diet, supplementation and mind body practice. Kolleen has done study with prominent Chinese Medical figure Bob Flaws in the treatment of infertility. She treats both female and male infertility. Her treatment style consists of mainly a Traditional Chinese Medical approach however she utilizes Japanese styles when applicable. Ms. Mitchell is also focused on the treatment of issues arising in Pregnancy and has studied with Acupuncturist - Mid-Wife Raven Lang. Pediatric disorders are also a passion of hers and she has studied with Senior Herbal Master Jake Paul Fratkin in Pediatrics.
One of the most important goals in her practice is to create a continuum of care for her patients transcending fertility enhancement, conception, all phases of pregnancy, and into the lives of the children through the treatment of pediatric disorders. Kolleen strongly believes in creating a family medicine that can be utilized through out a lifetime from conception into old age.
As a parent who utilized Chinese Medicine to enhance her own fertility, Kolleen has seen first hand the benefits of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs. She emphasizes the creation of emotional and physiological support through what can be a difficult journey for women on their way to conception. She offers her patients a compassionate, comprehensive approach in addressing their health concerns.
