Keeping Your Mind and Body Well This Winter

Winter holidays are a time for stress and joy, but hopefully more of the latter!  It's also a minefield for colds and flu as we travel and socialize indoors.  Triangle Acupuncture has you covered from the emotional stress to the stuffy head and cough and everything in between.

  • Acupuncture for a Mood Boost -  We know it is surprising to people that acupuncture has such a powerful effect on mood.  Just a few tiny needles and an hour of your time can equal some pretty dramatic shifts in how you feel and cope with all of the different stressors in your life.   Acupuncture increases endorphin release and reduces inflammatory markers.  These two effects alone mean that you will feel better when you get off the table vs. how you felt when you came into the clinic.  How we feel physically and how we feel mentally are always intertwined, and we don’t have to pick either treating the mind or the body when we do acupuncture, it is always both!
  • Herbs to Keep You Calm and Help with Sleep - We have a few different herbal formulas that are great for keeping you feeling even and calm.  The advantage to using herbal formulas is that they don't have any side effects and can be used on a temporary basis when you need the extra support.  A formula like Calm Spirit is very popular and keeps anxiety in check.  Many of you brew our custom-formulated Deep Sleep Tea for better quality sleep.  Ask your acupuncturist for more options if you'd like to try something to help with stress this season.
  • Blocked sinuses, stuffy nose, cough, and postnasal drip  -  Acupuncture is surprisingly great at opening up blocked sinuses and helping your body fight off a cold either right before it starts or if symptoms are lingering.  We have lots of herbal options for any of these symptoms and our custom-formulated Allergy Tea is extremely popular!  This herbal blend is made for the runny nose and congestion symptoms whether its caused by allergies or a virus, the Allergy tea tastes good and delivers relief.
