New Research on Acupuncture for Anxiety

Suffering from chronic anxiety can sometimes be the main reason someone is trying acupuncture but more often it is just an accepted state of being.   I have yet to meet a patient who doesn’t at some point in our initial intake tell me that they experience anxiety.   Patients who are seeking treatment for pain have anxiety about their pain levels, whether or not it will ever get better or if they will be able to function and do the things they need to do with their kids or at work.

Is BPA Really That Bad?

Here at Triangle Acupuncture Clinic a large part of our practice is working with infertility.  For years now we have known about the negative fertility effects of BPA, a chemical found in most plastics until a couple years ago.  Now, it seems that every time I turn around yet another study is proving just how bad BPA is for our health.  Most recently a study from University of Texas at Galveston found that women who had higher levels of BPA in their bloodstream were more likely to have preterm babies.

Tricks to Surviving Cold Season

January Product of the Month

Fish oil is one of the top selling supplements in the U.S., and with good reason!  Fish oils contain omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahecaenoic acid (DHA).  EPA and DHA are called “essential fatty acids,” which means that the body needs them but can’t produce them on it’s own, so the fats must be consumed to help the body operate properly.  Even if you eat fish regularly, it’s a good idea to take a fish oil supplement to ensure adequate amounts.
